After many years of speaking about getting my Ham License I finally achieved this goal in June 2020. I decided that I could do more with my time in quarantine than just watch TV, so I decided to start studying for the technican test. Getting the bug for HAM and purchasing a Kenwood TS2000 I persued my General license and passed in November 2020.
As of July 2022 I am an Amateur Extra and continue to learn about the hobby.I am operating a Kenwood TS2000 and an ICOM-880H as my base stations at home. I have trasnsitioned to working HF a majority of the time and have caught the bug. I have become involved with the Canadian-American Net, OMISS and the 3905 Century Club. I split some time especially in the car on W2LI and NE2S repeaters. I also operate on DMR with a Raspberry Pi and MMDVMHost utilizing either my Anytone 868 or the 878.
I’m a graduate of William Paterson University in Wayne with a Bachelors in Communications (Broadcast Journalism emphasis). I have worked in telecommunications since 1997 supporting multiple types of networks elements and network types.
Outside of work I am quite active in my community serving as a volunteer firefighter and emergency medical technician. When not on the engine or the rig I am an Assistant Scoutmaster with Troop 12 of Livingston where my oldest son achieved the rank of Eagle and my other son is presently a Life Scout and Assistant Sr. Patrol Leader.
