Our Location and Mission

This organization shall be known as the West Essex Amateur Radio Club (WEARC) is located at the Essex Fells Service Building, 307 Runnymede Road, Essex Fells, NJ 07021.

The object of this club is to promote Amateur Radio operator relations both technically and socially, providing public service communications, and requested emergency communications, as well as civic and service activities.

Membership Costs

Full Member dues are $25.00 per year payable on the first business meeting of each fiscal year. Limited Member Dues are $12.5.

New Members, who have passed a licence exam at WEARC get their first year membersip dues waived.

How to Join

Membership is open to all who have an interest in Amaterur Radio. To join you must attend at least three meetings within a six month period and get the support of a majority of members.

The Formal Stuff

WEARC has three classes of membership:

Full member you must:

  1. Must be a holder of a permanent amateur license.
  2. Must be over eighteen years of age.
  3. Must be elected by two-thirds majority of members during a business meeting after showing interest in the club by attending three meetings within a six month period, two of which are business meetings.
  4. Must attend at least three business meetings a year.
  5. Must have paid Club Dues either two months after being voted into the club or in accordance with Article III of the By-Laws.

Member Rights and Privileges

  1. May hold any elected office.
  2. May vote on any and all questions and elections of officers.
  3. May participate in any and all club activities subject to the limitations of their amateur license.

Limited Member (suitable for those under 18)

  1. Must have a genuine interest in Amateur Radio.
  2. Must be elected by two-thirds majority of members during a business meeting after showing interest in the club by attending three meetings within a six month period, two of which are business meetings.
  3. Must have written permission of parent if under eighteen years of age.
  4. Must have paid Club Dues either two months after being voted into the club or in accordance with Article III of the By-Laws.

Limited Member Rights and Privileges

  1. May be appointed by the President to chair a Committee.
  2. May participate in any and all club activities subject to the limitations of their amateur license.
  3. A Limited Member has no voting rights on questions or voting rights for the elections of officers.

Honorary Members

  1. Must be elected by two-thirds majority of members during a business meeting
  2. Demonstrate interest in the club by attending three business meetings within a six month period.

Honorary Members Rights and Privileges

  1. Entitled to all privileges of membership except those of voting and holding office.
