




Our Location and Mission
The object of this club is to promote Amateur Radio operator relations both technically and socially, providing public service communications and requested emergency communications, as well as civic and service activities.
Membership Costs
Full Member dues are $35.00 per year payable on the first business meeting of each fiscal year. Limited Member Dues are $12.50. Remote Member Dues are $10.
New Members, who have passed a license exam at WEARC get their first year membership dues waived.
How to Join
Membership is open to all who have an interest in Amateur Radio. To join you must attend at least three meetings within a six month period and get the support of a majority of members.
All our full members are licensed operators. WEARC has four classes of membership: Full Membership, Remote Membership, Limited Membership (suitable for those under 18), and Honorary Members.
The Formal Stuff
WEARC has three classes of membership:
Full membership:
- Must be a holder of a permanent amateur license.
- Must have written permission of parent or legal guardian if under eighteen years of age.
- A prospective member must show interest in the club by attending three club sponsored meetings, events, or activities within a six-month period.
- Must be approved by two-thirds majority of Full Members attending a Business Meeting.
- Must have paid Club Dues either two months after being voted into the club or in accordance with Article III of the By-Laws.
Member Rights and Privileges
- May hold any elected office.
- May vote on any and all questions and elections of officers.
- May participate in any and all club activities subject to the limitations of their amateur license.
Remote membership:
- Must be a holder of an Amateur Radio License in good standing.
- Must have written permission of parent or legal guardian if under eighteen years of age.
- A prospective member must show interest in the club by attending three club sponsored meetings, events, or activities within a six-month period.
- Must be approved by two-thirds majority of Full Members attending a Business Meeting.
- If you have passed an exam administered by the WEARC or ARCSquared VE team, you will be entitled to our fiscal year at no charge.
- Membership dues after the first fiscal year will be $10.00 per year.
- Must reside outside the ARRL Section NNJ.
Member Rights and Privileges
- May be appointed by the President to chair or participate on a Committee.
- May participate in any and all club activities subject to the limitations of their amateur license.
- May not vote on any and all questions and elections of officers.
- Mentoring will be available as time permits including one on one or group online sessions.
Limited Member (suitable for those under 18)
- Must have a genuine interest in Amateur Radio.
- Does not have an Amateur Radio License
- Must be approved by two-thirds majority of Full Members attending a Business Meeting after showing interest in the club by attending three club sponsored meetings, events, or activities within a six-month period.
- Must have written permission of parent or legal guardian if under eighteen years of age.
- Must have paid Club Dues either two months after being voted into the club or in accordance with Article III of the By-Laws.
- Any Limited Member who achieves their Amateur Radio License would automatically be presented at the next Business Meeting for approval to Full Member as per Article I.
Limited Member Rights and Privileges
- May be appointed by the President to chair a Committee.
- May participate in any and all club activities subject to the limitations of their amateur license.
- May not vote on any and all questions and elections of officers.
Honorary Members
- Must be approved by two-thirds majority of Full Members attending a Business Meeting after showing interest in the club.
Honorary Members Rights and Privileges
- Entitled to all privileges of membership of a Limited Member.
